He’s back and he’s bringing great food to the beach!
The Holiday Inn Panama City welcomes Zagat Magazine’s Godfather of Atlanta Cuisine, Chef Paul Albrecht back to Panama City Beach. Returning as the Executive Chef of Bellini Café & Cocktails, Chef Paul is prepared to redefine hotel dining in Panama City.
Born in Bavaria to a family with culinary roots going back over 200 years, Chef Paul was destined to be a chef. Both of his parents were successful restaurateurs and his grandfather was chef to the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy in the 19th century. The love and passion for food was in his genes.
After graduating from culinary school, he spent a few years training in kitchens throughout Germany and Switzerland and was named one of Bavaria’s youngest Master Chef’s. Word of Chef Paul’s talent eventually crossed the Atlantic and he was offered the Executive Sous Chef position at the prestigious Hotel Sonesta in Washington DC.
Partnering with the Sonesta’s Executive Chef Pano Karatassos, the two traveled to Atlanta, Georgia in 1979 and opened the now legendary, award winning restaurant – Pano’s & Paul’s.
In 1998 Chef Paul moved to Rosemary Beach for a short stay but soon chose to return to the restaurant life back in Atlanta. During his return tenure, he served as Executive Chef for several of Atlanta’s most popular dining spots such as Social Vining’s, Spice and Paul’s only to decide to “officially” retire in 2015.
With over 50+ years in the kitchen, Chef Paul has always been extremely busy both as a restaurateur and as a pioneering chef. He has won countless culinary awards, made numerous television appearances including Live with Regis & Kathie Lee and segments on CNN. Chef Paul has even hosted a dinner for a U.S. President. His passion is truly being a chef.
