The Holiday Inn Panama City is once again the premier business hotel in Panama City! After undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, the former hotel – known as the Holiday Inn Select – has been completely transformed into a bright, modern, and welcoming place to stay that Holiday Inn has given their stamp of approval on, allowing the new green Holiday Inn sign to go up at the hotel.
This renovation touched every aspect of the hotel from the guest rooms to the fitness center, the pool to the business center, and guests who have been there before will know the hotel is different as soon as they walk in the doors with a fresh and modern lobby!
“It is such a huge difference, the lobby before the renovation had copper ceiling tiles and tons of fans with Tiffany style lamp shades… It was dark and dated from floor to ceiling, now its bright and open feeling, it looks so much bigger even though it’s essentially the same space! With the modern furniture and lighting, new flooring and a crisp clean design, our guests know right when they come in that they are going to have a very comfortable and enjoyable stay with us.” Says Philip Colvin, Director of Marketing.
Other changes to the lobby area include an all new Business Center, newly refreshed restrooms, and a completely redesigned Front Desk. From the lobby you can also see the incredible changes that have been made to the restaurant and bar areas.
“The new look to our hotel extends into the restaurant and lounge. Both areas had the same dark look and feel as the rest of the common areas, with dark ceilings and of course, tons of the Tiffany ceiling fans. Our guests really seem to be enjoying the new bright and open atmosphere in the restaurant as well as in the lounge. The transformation is truly incredible when you look at where it came from – looking back at the old photos compared to now it’s a night-and-day difference.” Says Colvin
While all areas of the hotel received a major make-over, the most important area of the hotel, the guest rooms, received the most attention. The rooms were previously home to red bathtubs and old wicker furniture with very little functionality. Now the guest rooms have completely renovated bathrooms featuring glass shower doors, all new modern furniture complete with reading lights built in and a desk that can be pulled out for work or tucked away giving guests even more space, and new high quality pillow top mattresses.
“We are so excited about how the rooms came out, they really look great! Not only do they look great, but guests love the comfort our rooms provide – it’s actually incredible how many people complement our mattresses! In the hotel business that’s not an easy compliment to receive, everyone likes their own bed and they tolerate hotel beds – even when the mattresses are new – but lately everyone has been asking what our mattresses are because they like it better than their own bed and want to go out and buy one! It’s exciting for us to be able to provide that level of quality for our guests.” Says Colvin.
Beyond the guest rooms the hotel’s fitness center, pool, and meeting space all have gotten a face lift and the guests of the Holiday Inn Panama City have been excitedly enjoying every aspect of the hotel.
“Now that the new sign is up and we are officially a modern Holiday Inn, we’re excited to welcome new guests as well as welcome back guests who may have started to stay elsewhere as our product became dated. Receiving the new sign was a big moment for us, it meant that we achieved our goals and once again became the leader in hotel accommodations in the area.” Says Colvin.
